ELIGIBILITY CATEGORY DEFINITIONS

ACT training has been streamlined for distinct eligibility categories corresponding to programs designed specifically for each group. Each category is defined below.
EMDR has specific eligibility requirements that must be met in order to take this training.

1. Qualified Healthcare Practitioners

Those in the following fields may be exempt from certain prerequisite courses as determined by the Admissions Review Board.

• Medical doctors
• Psychologists
• Psychiatrists
• Social Workers
• Nurses
• Dentist
• Chiropractors
• Pastoral Counselors

 

2. Equivalent Life Experience

To qualify, the applicant must have both:

1. A Masters degree or equivalent experience as determined by the Admissions Review Board based on verifiable records of training and practice submitted by the applicant.

2. Recognized training within a mental health system or experience performing related work using therapeutic modalities.

Professionals working in the following fields may qualify for equivalent life experience:

• Mental Health Providers
• Community Mental Health Providers
• Acupuncturists
• Reflexologists
• Massage Therapists
• Shamans
• Healers
• Lawyers

 

3. Corporate Human Resources Professionals

Admissions are subject to review for individual or group training. Training prerequisites may apply. See Corporate Programs for more information

Applicants in the following fields may qualify for exemption to certain training prerequisites as determined by the Admissions Review Board.

• Executive Management
• Division Managers
• Supervisors
• Human Resources Directors
• Human Resources Administrators
• Human Resources Consultants

 

4. Public Human Resources Professionals

Applicants in the following fields may qualify for exemption to certain training prerequisites as determined by the Admissions Review Board.

• Teachers
• School Nurses
• Public Health Officials
• Government Crisis Management Officials
• Public Relations officers
• Correctional officers
• Public Asstistance Caseworkers
